Spotify, Fundación Rimas and the GRAMMY Museum brought the GRAMMY In The Schools program to Puerto Rico for the first time on October 22. About 300 students at Escuela Superior Rosalina Caraballo de Martínez in Guaynabo took part, according to Spotify’s announcement.
The October 22 visit paired hands-on sessions with an artist Q&A
Upperclassmen joined hands-on songwriting and production workshops, followed by an industry-career panel and a student showcase. Later, students from across the school joined a Q&A with RaiNao and performances by Lockward, Chuwi and DJ Hec.
“It’s okay to fail,” RaiNao told students, in Spotify’s account of the day. The company also says it will donate $25,000 to the school’s music-education programming.
Spotify’s announcement separately names its support for Fundación Rimas’ Mobile Academy, a traveling recording studio. That is a distinct initiative from the one-day school program.
