J. Cole submitted a letter supporting Lil Durk ahead of the rapper’s November 4 federal bond hearing, Complex and The Source reported on October 27. The hearing is still upcoming; neither report describes a decision on the request.

Cole’s letter focuses on a collaboration and a visit

In the letter, Cole says he met Durk through REFORM Alliance and describes him as wanting to make changes in his life. Cole also connects that outlook to “All My Life,” their 2023 collaboration. He writes that he initially hesitated because the track’s positive message felt obvious for someone with his own conscious-rap reputation, then agreed to make it with Durk.

Cole also recalls visiting a juvenile detention facility in Cleveland, where young people recognized him and asked about Durk and their song. That is Cole’s account of the visit, as described by Complex; it is not an independently surveyed view of everyone at the facility.

The November 4 hearing concerns Durk’s bond request in a separate federal case. The Source says he was acquitted in a different murder-for-hire case on September 11 and reports that the separate case still pending is scheduled for trial on August 30, 2027. Those are distinct proceedings, and the upcoming hearing has not produced a reported ruling.
