50 Cent turned Street Fighter’s opening weekend into a punchline on Instagram. Complex reported October 19 that, after the film topped the global box office, Jackson made a string of jokes about Whalefall, the Austin Abrams-led survival thriller.

Box office win, in Fif’s own words

The movie opened October 16 and posted $31 million domestically and $20.1 million internationally during October 16–18, for $51.1 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. Skydance’s official look at the production identifies Jackson as Balrog in Kitao Sakurai’s adaptation of the Capcom game.

Complex quoted one post: “I beached Whalefall LOL.” Jackson later described the weekend as “not bad for a kid from Southside.” The quick flex doubled as promotion for his on-screen turn as Balrog.
