Summer Walker’s disputes over her recording deals now involve two separate lawsuits. Rolling Stone reported on October 14 that it obtained a 10-page complaint Walker filed against Love Renaissance Records (LVRN) on August 28. She asks a court to void her September 2017 agreement and alleges LVRN diverted recording, touring, marketing and merchandising budgets and withheld revenue connected to YouTube and Amazon. Those are claims in her filing, not findings by a court.

The LVRN complaint is separate from Interscope’s case

Walker’s lawyer Keith Moten told Rolling Stone she no longer trusts LVRN and wants out of the deal. The outlet said LVRN’s lawyers had not immediately responded to its request for comment.

In a separate case, Interscope Records and parent company Universal Music Group sued Walker on October 9. They say her contract required five studio albums and seek at least $50 million in damages. Walker disputes the claims; Moten says she plans to defend her position, pursue legal relief and remains open to a resolution. An Interscope spokesperson said the company filed to preserve its contract terms and also hopes for an amicable resolution. Neither side’s position is a court ruling.
