Master P addressed his former No Limit Records artist Mystikal’s 20-year sentence during an appearance on the We In Miami Podcast, according to Complex’s October 19 report. The conversation also turned to mental-health stigma and the barriers that can keep people from asking for help.
What the interview says—and what it does not
Complex reports that Master P expressed respect for the sentence while offering his personal view that Mystikal had not received appropriate medication. That remark is not verified information about Mystikal’s treatment or diagnosis; the report does not establish his private medical history.
The legal context is clear. The Associated Press reported that Mystikal, whose legal name is Michael Tyler, pleaded guilty to third-degree rape and was sentenced on June 16 to 20 years for a 2022 Louisiana case. Master P’s comments do not change that court outcome.
Complex also says Master P credited Mystikal with helping build No Limit Records and mentioned the rapper’s son, Jimi Nu, paying tribute during live performances. That shared label history explains why the interview moved between music, punishment and care.
