Loe Shimmy is already thinking about arenas. In an October 15 Complex interview, the Florida rapper says sold-out dates and a packed show at Los Angeles’ The Novo have changed how he pictures the next step. His Drake collaboration “I’m Spent” reached No. 34 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving that ambition a chart marker as well as a live one.

A bigger stage is the next target

He is not describing an overnight jump. Shimmy says he wants to move from clubs to theaters and then toward arenas and stadiums. His July album Pretty Girlz Run the World includes Brent Faiyaz, and he told Complex he plans to record abroad after November. Tems is another artist he hopes to work with.

The next date on the calendar is a multi-artist bill rather than a solo arena show: Live Nation lists Shimmy for Zombieland on October 31 at Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater in Florida, alongside BigXthaPlug, Sexyy Red, Rob49 and Brent Faiyaz. “I’m Spent” is below in Drake’s official video; it is the song’s visual, not footage from the Complex interview.
