Little Simz tried the follow-up to NO THANK YOU four times before arriving at Lotus, according to Apple Music’s album notes. Released June 6, 2025, the 13-track record brings Obongjayar and Moonchild Sanelly together on “Flood,” produced by Miles Clinton James, after the opener “Thief.”
The record changes its mood
Apple Music’s notes trace a change in mood as the record reaches “Young,” with its post-punk edge, and “Free,” a jazz-inflected boom-bap track concerned with love and fear.
The original edition runs 49 minutes and was released through Little Simz under license to AWAL. Apple Music also lists videos for “Young” and “Flood,” plus her Zane Lowe interview about the album, for readers who want to follow the release beyond its tracklist.
