Drake’s three-album run looks set to sit out the 2027 Grammys. Sources told Billboard he didn’t submit ICEMAN, HABIBTI or MAID OF HONOUR, or any of their songs, for consideration. The report surfaced this week, ahead of the Recording Academy’s first round of voting on October 12.
Three albums, no Grammy entries
That distinction matters: this is a report about entries, before nominations have been announced. The Academy says eligible recordings must be submitted and screened before they reach the ballot. Its entry window closed August 21, with the eligibility period ending August 28. Nominees will be announced November 16.
Drake has pulled away from the awards before. He withdrew his Certified Lover Boy nominations ahead of the 2022 ceremony. Billboard Canada notes that his collaborations have still been considered since then, including Her Loss with 21 Savage and $ome $exy $ongs 4 U with PARTYNEXTDOOR. His solo stance hasn’t meant every project bearing his name stayed away.
Stereogum also points to “Make Them Know,” the closing track on ICEMAN, where Drake alludes to withholding the album. The current submission claim comes from Billboard’s sources; it isn’t a new statement from Drake or a public entry list released by the Academy.
First-round voting runs October 12–22. The ceremony is scheduled for February 7, 2027, so the next concrete milestone is November’s nomination announcement.
