Doechii brings Swamp Sessions back with “BOMBS”
The self-directed video revives a format she used before Alligator Bites Never Heal became her Grammy-winning mixtape.
Doechii brought Swamp Sessions back on October 12 with “BOMBS,” a short solo track and video she directed. Complex described it as her first solo release of 2026; the official upload is on her YouTube channel.
A return to the format before the mixtape
The series was part of the lead-up to 2024’s Alligator Bites Never Heal. In the weeks before the Grammy-winning mixtape, Doechii posted freestyles and song snippets; tracks including “Nissan Altima” and “Catfish” later made the project, Pitchfork reported.
A handwritten Instagram Story from the same day set out a broader creative aim: Doechii wrote about relearning hip-hop and wanting Black womanhood centered in hip-hop and pop. Pitchfork said it viewed the post.
