Luther Archer, D’Angelo’s older brother, announced a posthumous album of previously unreleased music in an interview with Ms. Community Clo for KISS Richmond, published October 15.

Six tracks are complete, Complex reports

In an October 18 report, Complex says Archer told the station that six tracks are complete so far. Archer also described a vault of unreleased recordings, a possible B-sides collection and other future projects; those ideas are not a schedule for this album.

Complex reports that the vault includes unreleased songs featuring Mary J. Blige and Michael Jackson. The report does not confirm either collaboration for this album. Neither KISS Richmond nor Complex has announced a release date or final tracklist.

D’Angelo’s three studio albums were Brown Sugar (1995), Voodoo (2000) and Black Messiah (2014). He died on October 14, 2025, according to Complex. The posthumous project would draw from recordings that have not appeared on those albums.
