Complex named B-Engaged its operating partner for Complex UK in an announcement published October 14. The arrangement gives B-Engaged responsibility for the UK title’s editorial growth, audience strategy and partnerships, alongside a separate brand-media unit. Neither announcement discloses financial terms.

A new operating partner and a UK-first GOAT Talk

The companies also named a dedicated local editorial team. Jacob Davey, whose past work includes Hypebeast, The Basement and Versus, is editorial director; Joseph “JP” Patterson is executive editor. Patterson told Complex that music remains central to the UK title as it expands coverage across sport and style.

Complex UK has also launched a dedicated YouTube channel. Its first local GOAT Talk pairs Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta with England rugby captain Maro Itoje, a sports crossover that gives the channel an opening format while the new editorial team takes shape.

Patterson said Complex UK began in 2014. The announcement frames the partnership as a new growth phase for the publication, but gives no deal value or timetable beyond saying further announcements are expected in the coming months.
