BigXthaPlug says streams brought in $1M last quarter

He said any future major-label deal would be about his percentage, not a bigger advance; the figure is his own account, not audited income.

BigXthaPlug said streaming brought him $1 million “last quarter” during an Oct. 28 interview with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay. XXL reported the claim the next day. He was describing his own earnings; no payout statement or independent audit accompanied the figure.

A number, and a negotiating stance

He framed that income as leverage if he ever considers a major-label deal. BigX said he would care more about his percentage than an advance, and described his distribution arrangement in terms of a small distributor share and recoupment. XXL identifies UnitedMasters as his distributor.

The amount is self-reported, and the interview does not define whether “made” means gross receipts or take-home income, break out services, or account for collaborators, costs and taxes. BigX did not announce a new deal or say he is currently negotiating one.

That distinction is the story: he is publicly treating a strong independent quarter as a reason to negotiate from a different position, not declaring that a major-label contract is already on the table.
